Entry Requirements
WHAT ARE THE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS?
Employer Sponsorship: Applicants must secure a suitable employer who is a SOLAS Approved Employer.
Interview: Selection involves an interview with the prospective employer.
Age: Must be 17 years or older.
Educational Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 Leaving Certificate subjects at Ordinary Level (O6/H7), including Maths and English
- OR
- A full QQI Level 5 qualification or equivalent.
Aptitude Test: Completion of an initial aptitude test is required.
Language Proficiency: Minimum CEFR B2 level in writing, reading, listening, and speaking (or recognised equivalent).
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL): Available for applicants who do not meet formal criteria, through a process that assesses prior certified or experiential learning.
Skills & Attributes:
- Numerate and literate with strong learning ability
- Interest in manufacturing technology and customer service
- Motivated, analytical, and able to absorb product knowledge
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in teams, adaptable and flexible

To become a Robotics and Automation apprentice you must pass the Ishihara Colour Vision Test (24 Plate Edition). For further information, contact your local Education and Training Board.
