What does a Robotics and Automation Technician do?
A Robotics and Automation Technician play a key role in supporting the installation, operation and maintenance of robotic and automated systems used in modern manufacturing.
Working closely with engineering, production and maintenance teams, they help to design, configure, test and optimise advanced technologies that improve productivity, flexibility and safety on the factory floor. Their responsibilities include programming robots, maintaining control systems such as PLCs and SCADA, diagnosing faults, and ensuring equipment operates efficiently and safely.
As industries continue to adopt Industry 4.0 and 5.0 technologies, robotics and automation technicians are essential in delivering smart, connected, and data-driven manufacturing solutions.
