PROGRAMME DELIVERY

Employers benefit from this apprenticeship through a blended learning approach, where apprentices gain valuable hands-on experience in the workplace complemented by block-release training at dedicated education facilities. This structure allows apprentices to apply their learning directly on the job while receiving expert instruction and support from industry-focused educators.
By becoming a Robotics and Automation employer, your company plays a vital role in shaping the future of manufacturing, ensuring a pipeline of highly skilled technicians who can drive innovation and productivity within your business.

DELIVERED THROUGH PARTNERSHIP

The Robotics and Automation Apprenticeship is initially being launched through LMETB’s Advanced Manufacturing Training Centre of Excellence (AMTCE) in Dundalk, a state-of-the-art facility located at Xerox Technology Park. This €26 million centre, officially opened in March 2025, is Ireland’s largest capital investment in Further Education and Training to date. It offers cutting-edge training in advanced manufacturing technologies, including robotics, cobotics, additive manufacturing, and Industry 4.0 systems. The AMTCE serves as a national hub for developing a skilled workforce, with plans for the apprenticeship programme to expand nationwide in collaboration with other Education and Training Boards (ETBs).
